Sound Training is a unique mainstream literacy programme, designed to boost reading ability, vocabulary and confidence of pupils in Key Stage 2, 3, 4 and 5. The programme targets pupils from average ability, rather than low ability SEN pupils.

We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic, qualified and experienced supply teachers, who would like to deliver our programme to schools in your area. You must be available to work on a flexible basis with excellent interpersonal skills. Our supply teacher posts are offered on a part time, short-term basis throughout the academic year. Our supply teachers generally work one to two days per week, but would never be offered more than the equivalent of three full days per week. Work can be sporadic dependant on current contracts in your area.

The programme is taught to groups of four pupils at a time, for one hour per week over 6 to 8 weeks (depending on the key stage level) and has proved to have significant benefits for pupils. In practical terms, this means that Sound Training Supply Teachers would typically work with groups of pupils for a full school day.

As well as competitive supply teacher daily rates, we offer training and resources, as well as on-going support to our national team of supply teachers.

If you are passionate about teaching and learning, with a particular interest in improving literacy standards and helping individuals to reach their potential, then we would like to hear from you.

NB. Please note that in order to apply, you must have QTS status and be able to present your DFE number at interview if successful.
